This article is about an upcoming feature in the Journal of Universal Computer Science ([J.UCS, 2002]) related on typed-links. We will introduce the concept of “Links to the Future” in context of the journal. Articles published in J.UCS are stored in an object-oriented database. Therefore features such as full text and index-search are already available out-of-the-box. With the concept of “Links to the Future” it is possible to automatically generate a link to an already published article in J.UCS. Utilizing the paradigm of bidirectional links will help the reader to use this additional information about an article. It will be shown that this concept is limited to articles stored in the local database. However, a simple extension (i.e. working with so called surrogate-objects) will make it possible to enhance this idea to resources referenced in articles published in J.UCS. References to traditional resources (books and other printed material) are also analyzed. In the electronic environment several techniques (such as DOI, Digital Object Identifier) are available to refer to an unique electronic resource. Using surrogates of traditional material makes it possible to link to traditional material. Identification systems for traditional material (ISBN and ISSN) are already available and digital libraries should make use of them. To enable this feature it is necessary to add attributes to link-objects. Problems related to this upcoming feature are discussed. This article will give an outline and status report of the implementation work.

Challenges to practicum! The authors have explored professional practice knowledge and the ways practicum is dealt with in teacher education. They report from Research and Development projects based on collaboration between universities and school communities. Empirical studies have been carried out in Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Communication about practicum is reframed. Preservice teachers’ experiences during practicum serve as a point of departure for improving teacher education. The book is a must for everyone committed to quality in initial teacher education, including preservice teachers, school leaders and local supervisors. “This volume explores new and different ways to think about the construction and evaluation of the practicum that students encounter. Contributors ask the reader to consider the assumptions that the practicum is based on, question these assumptions and strive to find new and better ways to contribute to the autonomy, professionalism, and moral development of emerging teachers. The focus is clearly on creating conversational and learning spaces for students that encourage them to think explicitly about theory and its application to practice and vice versa. The book not only challenges our thinking but also provides rich examples of research and evaluation in this area, which help us to hear the voices of those involved in the practicum in fresh and insightful ways.” Reflections by Roslin Brennan Kemmis, Head of the School of Education, Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, Australia

First published in 1919, this book addresses the history of education in England from the 4th century AD to the early years of the 20th century. Adamson examines the impact of significant events, such as the Black Death, on contemporary systems of education, and stresses the role of the Church and the Roman Empire in shaping English education through the centuries. The book was influential enough that it remained a classic long after publication and even after Adamson's death in 1945. This book will be of value to those studying the history and development of the education of both men and women in England.

evolved from a set of papers presented at a panel entitled Environmental and
Human Security in Africa during the 49th International Studies Association
(ISA) Annual Convention in March 2008. The purpose of the panel was to identify
more systematic ways to under- stand, monitor, and remediate specific human and
environmental problems in Africa. A common theme among panelists was the
importance of understanding fundamental causal mechanisms so that effective
policies and actions can prevent human and environmental problems from worsening
in the future. Since all of the panel paper presenters worked for U.S. military
educational, research, policy, or operational organizations, there was a shared
interest in identifying ways that U.S. organizations, including the recently
established AFRICOM, can provide effective, non-traditional security aid. Each
paper identified specific measures where remarkably modest amounts of aid or
assistance on the part of U.S. or other outside actors might be extremely
useful in one or more environmental or human security issue areas. The papers

This textbook examines the extent to which moral values play a role as productive forces for the economy, and explores the effect of ethical and unethical Behavior on the economy. It shows how ethics improves productivity in the economy, and provides specific ethics tools for practical application for students and managers. Stemming from an overall interdisciplinary approach, and combining recent research results from sciences such as economics, business administration, Behavioral economics, philosophy, psychology and sociology, this textbook fills a gap in the literature on ethics in business.
The book begins with the foundations of business ethics by defining business ethics, delineating its objectives, and discussing the importance of business ethics for business, the economy and society. Next, it presents the ethical evaluation approaches to enable the reader to evaluate economic Behavior ethically. It then explores ‘man in business’, and deals with such issues as Behavior, motivation, ethical orientation, and the presence or absence of a sense of justice. Following this is a discussion of the rules of the market and of questions such as: Does the market economy promote ethical Behavior or is there a conflict of goals between ethics and market economy? Do companies have a social responsibility? The book concludes with an analysis of the importance of ethics for productivity in the enterprise and in the economy, and presents ethics tools as the instruments with which management can promote ethical Behavior of their employees.

A clear and concise roadmap for ethical business behavior using commonsense moral principles
Business Ethics for Better Behavior concisely answers the three most pressing ethical questions business professionals face: What makes business practices right or wrong?; Why do normal, decent business people of good will sometimes do the wrong thing?; and How can we use the answer to these
questions to get ourselves, our coworkers, our bosses, and our employees to behave better?
Bad behavior in business rarely results from bad will. Most people mean well much of the time. But most of us are vulnerable. We all fall into moral traps, usually without even noticing.
Business Ethics for Better Behavior teaches business professionals, students, and other readers how to become aware of those traps, how to avoid them, and how to dig their way out if they fall in. It integrates the best work in psychology, economics, management theory, and normative philosophy into
a simple action plan for ensuring the best ethical performance at all levels of business practice. This is a book anyone in business, from an entry-level employee to CEO, can use.

It is more important than ever that a business must be both ethical and profitable. In this thoroughly revised and updated second edition, Norman E. Bowie shows that by applying Kant's three formulations of the categorical imperative, and by doing the right thing for the right reason, a business can achieve success in both of these fields. Bowie uses examples such as building trust, transparency through open book management, and respecting employees by providing a living wage and meaningful work. This new edition, for graduates and academic researchers in the field of business ethics, has been heavily revised to include the newest scholarship on Kantian ethics, with a new emphasis on Kant's later moral and political theory, a workable account of Kantian capitalism, and additional accounts on corporate social responsibility, Kantianism and human rights, corporate moral agency, and the Kantian theory of meaningful work.

Big Data bring new opportunities to modern society and challenges
to data scientists. On the one hand, Big Data hold great promises for
discovering subtle population patterns and heterogeneities that are not
possible with small-scale data. On the other hand, the massive sample size and
high dimensionality of Big Data introduce unique computational and statistical
challenges, including scalability and storage bottleneck, noise accumulation,
spurious correlation, incidental endogeneity and measurement errors. These
challenges are distinguished and require new computational and statistical
paradigm. This paper gives overviews on the salient features of Big Data and
how these features impact on paradigm change on statistical and computational
methods as well as computing architectures. We also provide various new perspectives
on the Big Data analysis and computation. In particular, we emphasize on the
viability of the sparsest solution in high-confidence set and point out that
exogenous assumptions in most statistical methods for Big Data cannot be
validated due to incidental endogeneity. They can lead to wrong statistical
inferences and consequently wrong scientific conclusions.

This book was born of the need to provide a
contemporary reappraisal of strategic studies. Apart from the necessity to take
stock of the far-reaching changes in the first post-Cold War decade, the
contributors also sought to broaden the focus of the study of security away
from the purely military aspect of strategic studies to include non-military
issues of security. The goal of the book is to orient students in the evolving
conceptual terrain of the renamed area of security studies. It offers a
comprehensive, objective treatment of security studies that integrates
strategic thought, theories of security, key issues and developments in
post-Cold War security while combining North American, British and Australian
views of security. I would like to thank all of the contributors to this volume
for their dedication to the project and for providing material that made the
editing process so enjoyable. I would especially like to thank my colleague
here at Deakin, Mohan Malik, for his contributions to this volume and for his
help and guidance during the early stages of the process. I would also like to
thank Joan Beaumont, Head of the School of Australian and International Studies
for her and the school's support for the project. Finally I would like to thank
our publisher Steven Kennedy and the anonymous reviewers for their comments on
the early draft of the manuscript, and especially Steven for his patience when
the delivery of the manuscript was delayed due to the Indian and Pakistani
nuclear tests of May 1998.

The vast majority of modern criminal investigations involve some element of digital evidence, from mobile phones, computers, CCTV and other devices. Digital Forensics: Digital Evidence in Criminal Investigations provides the reader with a better understanding of how digital evidence complements “traditional” scientific evidence and examines how it can be used more effectively and efficiently in a range of investigations.
Taking a new approach to the topic, this book presents digital evidence as an adjunct to other types of evidence and discusses how it can be deployed effectively in support of investigations. The book provides investigators/SSMs/other managers with sufficient contextual and technical information to be able to make more effective use of digital evidence sources in support of a range of investigations. In particular, it considers the roles played by digital devices in society and hence in criminal activities. From this, it examines the role and nature of evidential data which may be recoverable from a range of devices, considering issues relating to reliability and usefulness of those data.

Digital marketing has transformed how
businesses and other organisations communicate with their audiences. The 5Ds of
digital marketing we introduce in Chapter 1 (digital devices, digital
platforms, digital media, digital data and digital technology) can be used,
alongside traditional marketing techniques, to get closer to audiences than
ever before. Consumers now have access to a much wider choice of entertainment,
products, services and prices from different suppliers and a more convenient
way to select and purchase. items. Organisations have the opportunity to expand
into new markets, offer new services, interact with audiences in new ways and
compete on a more equal footing with larger businesses. Marketers working
within these organisations have the opportunity to develop new skills and to
use these new tools to improve the competitiveness of the company. At the same
time, the Internet and related digital technology platforms give rise to many
threats to organisations. For example, online companies such as ASOS.com and
Zalando (clothing), Amazon.com (books and retail), iTunes and Spotify (music)
and Booking.com and Expedia (travel) have captured a significant part of their
market and struck fear into the existing players. Many consumers now regularly
use social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Snapchat and Twitter
as part of their daily lives, with the majority of access via smartphones.
Engaging these consumers is an ongoing challenge but, as we will see, companies
like those above have taken advantage of these opportunities to interact with
customers and this has helped them develop as worldwide brands.

Several areas of mathematics find application throughout computer science, and all students of computer science need a practical working understanding of them. These core subjects are centred on logic, sets, recursion, induction, relations and functions. The material is often called discrete mathematics, to distinguish it from the traditional topics of continuous mathematics such as integration and differential equations. The central theme of this book is the connection between computing and discrete mathematics. This connection is useful in both directions: • Mathematics is used in many branches of computer science, in applications including program specification, data structures, design and analysis of algorithms, database systems, hardware design, reasoning about the correctness of implementations, and much more; • Computers can help to make the mathematics easier to learn and use, by making mathematical terms executable, making abstract concepts more concrete, and through the use of software tools such as proof checkers. These connections are emphasized throughout the book. Software tools (see Appendix A) enable the computer to serve as a calculator, but instead of just doing arithmetic and trigonometric functions, it will be used to calculate with sets, relations, functions, predicates and inferences. There are also special software tools, for example a proof checker for logical proofs using natural deduction.

Much research in entrepreneurship presents results as if they are universally and timelessly valid. Entrepreneurship in Context takes the opposite tack – it studies entrepreneurship as a context bound phenomenon. For entrepreneurship, the importance of context goes beyond gaining understanding and avoiding mistakes. The reciprocal influence exercised by the entrepreneurial venture and its corresponding context is at the very heart of the entrepreneur as an agent of change. The book addresses context in a narrow sense, i.e. a person’s life situation and local, situational characteristics. Evolution of Information Technology in Educational Management As the editors of this volume we are very happy to publish a selection of the papers that were presented at the eighth Conference of Working Group 3.7 of the International Federation for Information Processing which was held in July 2008. The focus of Working Group 3.7 is on ITEM: Information Technology in Educational Management (for more information, please visit our website http://item.wceruw.org/), and the theme of its 2008 conference was on the Evolution of Information Technology in Educational Management. Our Working Group started its activities (officially we were not an IFIP Working Group at that time) in 1994 in Israel, so it made sense to look at how ITEM has evolved over the years and to reflect on what its future may be. The conference took place in Darwin (northern Australia) which even during the Australian winter is a very pleasant location for having a conference. The town of Darwin was given its name by the Captain of the Beagle (the ship on which Darwin travelled when he made the investigations on which he based his Theory of Evolution) who came to the area and named the town after the giant of science he admired.

Global distributive justice is now part of mainstream political debate. It incorporates issues that are now a familiar feature of the political landscape, such as global poverty, trade justice, aid to the developing world and debt cancellation. This is the first textbook to focus exclusively on issues of distributive justice on the global scale. It gives clear and up-to-date accounts of the major theories of global justice and spells out their significance for a series of important political issues, including climate change, international trade, human rights and migration. These issues are brought to life through the use of case studies, which emphasise the connection of theories of justice to contemporary politics, and 'Further Issues' sections, which discuss emerging debates or controversies that are likely to command increasing attention in the coming years.

The fourth edition of this well-respected text, first published in 1979, is a timely and thorough revision of the existing material. Group Counseling has done well over the years, due in large part to its comprehensive history of group work as a counseling specialty, the practical nature of the authors' explanations, the diversity of sources the authors draw upon, and the international acclaim of Dr. Landreth's work on play and filial therapy. This text will provide both novice and experienced counselors with a framework from which to expand their group counseling skills and knowledge.

The subtleties of counseling are very difficult to accurately express in written form alone. This is particularly true in the case of group work, where the interpersonal dynamics expand geometrically. A good group counseling textbook, such as the fifth edition of Group Counseling: Concepts and Procedures (2013), can provide a solid foundation, but video demonstrations can illustrate the nuances of the group experience in ways that words alone cannot. To provide just such a video, Kevin A. Fall has filmed a series of segments of a group in which he acts as leader with six participants and demonstrates the stages of a group as it moves from first session through termination. Fall offers regular sections of audio commentary, analysis, and processing on each segment, totaling a 120-minute program. The companion workbook provides additional information to fill in what is not shown on the film and includes exercises, activities, and discussion questions related to each video segment. The video and workbook are designed to work seamlessly with the Berg, Landreth, and Fall text, but they can also be used alongside any other group counseling textbook.

Family and marital therapies are rapidly becoming highly used methods of treatment of mental disorders and are no longer ancillary methods to individual psychotherapy. The last few decades have brought about an increasing awareness of the fact that, excluding organic etiology, practically all mental disorders are caused, fostered, and/or related to faulty interpersonal relations. As a rule, the .earlier in life one is exposed to noxious factors, the more severe is the damage. Thus, early child-parents' and child-siblings' interactions are highly relevant determinants of mental health and mental disorder. Moreover, parents themselves do not live in a vacuum. Their marital interaction significantly contributes to their own mental health or to its decline, and parent-child relationships are greatly influenced by the nature of intraparental relationships. Parental discord, conflicts, and abandonment affect the child's personality development. Thus, family and marital therapy is more than therapy; it is an important contribution to the prevention of mental disorder. The present volume is comprised of three parts. The first, primarily theoretical, analyzes the fundamental aspects of marital and family therapy. The second part describes the various therapeutic techniques and the last deals with several specific issues. It gives me great pleasure to acknowledge my gratitude to my coeditor, Dr. George Stricker. Without his thorough and devoted efforts, this volume could not have come into being. Inquiry plays a vital role in history as a discipline which constructs knowledge about the past and it is a vital organizing principle in history education in many countries around the world. Inquiry is also much debated, however, and although it has prominent contemporary advocates around the world, it also has prominent critics in education studies. This volume in the International Review of History Education explores the role of historical inquiry in history curricula and in history classrooms and addresses a series of linked questions, including the following: • What does historical inquiry mean in history classrooms? • What forms does classroom based historical inquiry take, and to what extent is it understood in differing ways in different contexts? • What do we know about the affordances and constraints associated with inquiry-based learning in history –what is the evidence of the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of inquiry based historical learning? We address these questions in the volume by presenting seventeen papers from eight different international contexts exploring historical inquiry that will be of interest both to history teachers, curriculum designers and history education researchers - seven papers from England, three from the US, two from Sweden and one each from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, and Singapore. The volume adds to our knowledge about teachers’ thinking about inquiry and teachers’ inquiry practices. It adds to our knowledge about the impact and value of inquiry in developing children’s’ historical learning. It also explores the challenges that implementing inquiry can present for history teachers and provides support for implementation and examples of successful practice. ENDORSEMENT: "A wonderful overview of the global story of historical inquiry. Canvassing everything from finding opportunities to teach history through all levels of education, through to the complexities of navigating different views on the past inside and outside of the classroom, History Education and Historical Inquiry provides a practical and empowering approach for educators around the world. Recommended reading for anyone who wants to feel the support of educators from around the world in strengthening the place of inquiry in complex times." — Marnie Hughes - Warrington, University of South Australia

This book centers on the fact that public eduction is involved in the politics of the world just as other systems and organizations are involved in competing for the values and resources of the many communities. Keeping education out of politics or politics out of education is fallacious. As long as public education is financed by taxes, local, state, or national, it must compete with other agencies and programs for the available tax dollars. These realities make it necessary for school leaders to be knowledgeable of how the values and resources of the school-community are distributed. This need calls for an understanding of how important decisions are made or not made that affect the outcomes of public education. If public schools are to remain relevant and in the main stream of public issues and related decisional outcomes, they must become more knowledgeable of the political world of education and how important decisions are determined regarding educational support.

Educational institutions in which administrators, managers and teachers will be working in the late 1990's will be far different from those of today. Schools, which until recently were lagging behind in the implementation of information technology (IT) in their administration and management, are now attempting to close the gap. A massive and rapid computerization process in schools, school districts and throughout the other Bevels of the educational system, including universities, has made computers an integral part of the educational management scene. A computer on the desk of every educational management stat T might become a reality in the near future. The term "IT" includes three main components: hardware, software - mainly management information systems (MIS)/decision support systems (DSS) and human factors. Presently, successful implementation depends on adequate software and on human factors. MIS/DSSs are being implemented with the aim of providing meaningful support for school employees in their daily activities, and to improve their performance, effectiveness and efficiency. Much like at universities, usable and accessible school databases are being established, encompassing data on students, teachers, employees, classrooms, grade Levels, courses, student achievements and behavior, school space, curriculum, finance, inventory, transportation, et

In the last years, data warehousing systems have gained relevance to support decision making within organizations. The core component of these systems is the data warehouse and nowadays it is widely assumed that the data warehouse design must follow the multidimensional paradigm. Thus, many methods have been presented to support the multidimensional design of the data warehouse. The first methods introduced were requirement-driven but the semantics of the data warehouse (since the data warehouse is the result of homogenizing and integrating relevant data of the organization in a single, detailed view of the organization business) require to also consider the data sources during the design process. Considering the data sources gave rise to several data-driven methods that automate the data warehouse design process, mainly, from relational data sources. Currently, research on multidimensional modeling is still a hot topic and we have two main research lines. On the one hand, new hybrid automatic methods have been introduced proposing to combine data-driven and requirement-driven approaches. These methods focus on automating the whole process and improving the feedback retrieved by each approach to produce better results. On the other hand, some new approaches focus on considering alternative scenarios than relational sources. These methods also consider (semi)-structured data sources, such as ontologies or XML, that have gained relevance in the last years. Thus, they introduce innovative solutions for overcoming the heterogeneity of the data sources. All in all, we discuss the current scenario of multidimensional modeling by carrying out a survey of multidimensional design methods. We present the most relevant methods introduced in the literature and a detailed comparison showing the main features of each approach.

The subject of international security is never out of the headlines. The subjects of war and peace, military strategy, the proliferation of nuclear weapons and revisionist states remain central to the discussion, but burgeoning concerns such as climate change, migration, poverty, health, and international terrorism have complicated the field. So what really matters? The traditional prioritization of state security or the security needs of individuals, humanity, and the biosphere? And where do the problems lie? Are states themselves as much a part of the problem as the solution for people's security needs? With globalization, the international security environment has become more interdependent than ever before with the establishment of complex networks.

I also owe my
thanks to the reviewers who responded to the questionnaire about the book. As
faculty members who also use the book in their own classes, I appreciated their
thoughts and feedback and think that the book is more complete because of their
suggestions. I especially appreciate the input on the cases, and the inclusion
of the women, peace, and security agenda as one of the areas of focus in
chapter 6 is the result of some excellent ideas put forward by one of them. It
is much appreciated, although I take full responsibility for everything that is
in this volume. My own foundations in international relations came from two
former professors, my undergraduate adviser at New York University, Robert
Burrowes, and my graduate adviser at the University of Maryland, Jonathan
Wilkenfeld. I owe each of them a huge debt for helping direct and mentor me
throughout my career, and I value the friendship with each of them that
continues to this day. I was fortunate to do most of the writing and revising
for this book subsequent to my retirement and move to our home in the Eastern
Sierra. This proved to be a most fortuitous as well as beautiful place to
isolate during the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, and that provided an
environment conducive to think- ing and writing during this difficult period.
My tennis and golf friends helped provide a much-needed balance between
thinking, writing, and play. I would not be as productive if I did not have
that balance, for which I am very grateful.

This textbook provides an in-depth introduction to software design, with a focus on object-oriented design, and using the Java programming language. Its goal is to help readers learn software design by discovering the experience of the design process. To this end, a narrative is used that introduces each element of design know-how in context, and explores alternative solutions in that context. The narrative is supported by hundreds of code fragments and design diagrams.
The first chapter is a general introduction to software design. The subsequent chapters cover design concepts and techniques, which are presented as a continuous narrative anchored in specific design problems. The design concepts and techniques covered include effective use of types and interfaces, encapsulation, composition, inheritance, design patterns, unit testing, and many more. A major emphasis is placed on coding and experimentation as a necessary complement to reading the text. To support this aspect of the learning process, a companion website with practice problems is provided, and three sample applications that capture numerous design decisions are included. Guidance on these sample applications is provided in a section called “Code Exploration” at the end of each chapter. Although the Java language is used as a means of conveying design-related ideas, the book’s main goal is to address concepts and techniques that are applicable in a host of technologies.
This book is intended for readers who have a minimum of programming experience and want to move from writing small programs and scripts to tackling the development of larger systems. This audience naturally includes students in university-level computer science and software engineering programs. As the prerequisites to specific computing concepts are kept to a minimum, the content is also accessible to programmers without a primary training in computing. In a similar vein, understanding the code fragments requires only a minimal grasp of the language, such as would be taught in an introductory programming course.

This extensively classroom-tested text takes an innovative approach to explaining software testing that defines it as the process of applying a few precise, general-purpose criteria to a structure or model of the software. The book incorporates cutting-edge developments, including techniques to test modern types of software such as OO, web applications, and embedded software. This revised second edition significantly expands coverage of the basics, thoroughly discussing test automaton frameworks, and it adds new, improved examples and numerous exercises. The theory of coverage criteria is carefully and cleanly explained to help students understand concepts before delving into practical applications, while extensive use of the JUnit test framework gives students practical experience in a test framework popular in the industry. Exercises, meanwhile, feature specifically tailored tools that allow students to check their own work. The book's website also offers an instructor's manual, PowerPoint slides, testing tools for students, and example software programs in Java.

This textbook provides an introduction to digital forensics, a rapidly evolving field for solving crimes. Beginning with the basic concepts of computer forensics, each of the book’s 21 chapters focuses on a particular forensic topic composed of two parts: background knowledge and hands-on experience through practice exercises. Each theoretical or background section concludes with a series of review questions, which are prepared to test students’ understanding of the materials, while the practice exercises are intended to afford students the opportunity to apply the concepts introduced in the section on background knowledge.
This experience-oriented textbook is meant to assist students in gaining a better understanding of digital forensics through hands-on practice in collecting and preserving digital evidence by completing various exercises. With 20 student-directed, inquiry-based practice exercises, students will better understand digital forensic concepts and learn digital forensic investigation techniques.
This textbook is intended for upper undergraduate and graduate-level students who are taking digital-forensic related courses or working in digital forensics research. It can also be used by digital forensics practitioners, IT security analysts, and security engineers working in the IT security industry, particular IT professionals responsible for digital investigation and incident handling or researchers working in these related fields as a reference book.

This textbook draws on international contributors with a range of backgrounds to explore, engage with and challenge readers in understanding the many aspects and elements that inform and influence contemporary nursing practice. With a focus to the future, this book explores the challenges facing health services and presents the arguments for a nursing contribution and influence in ensuring safe and quality care.
Readers are supported to explore how, as individuals, they can shape their personal nursing identity and practice. The structure of the text is based on the belief that an individual nurse’s professional identity is developed through an interaction between their personal attributes and the influences of the profession itself. Reflecting this approach, the authors engage in a conversation with the reader rather than simply presenting a series of facts and information.

In consideration of the influence of Japanese culture, introduce studies for resolving conflict between nurses and patients. Japanese have a culture that does not express their thoughts in words. That elegant culture sometimes cannot attract each other's ideas. When it is driven in a busy environment or spiritually, Doi calls it "the structure of amae." However, there seems to be no English equivalent to this "Amae". However, I think that it is very important to understand the concept of "Amae" in considering the relationship between a nurse and a patient. Therefore, from the conflict between the nurse and the patient, in particular here we introduce Japanese traditional art "intervention study using tea ceremony: in Japanese Chadoh" and "avoidance of veteran nurses conflict". In addition, although these findings are unique to Japan, they can be said to be universal from the viewpoint of human relations.

This overview offers a brief outline of central records management principles and practices. It is the records management equivalent of a driver’s manual: it offers some “rules of the road” for records management. This overview will not teach you records or archives theories any more than a driver’s manual explains how a combustion engine is designed. The goal is to introduce some basic records management concepts and outline some of the central practices of effective records management. The primary goal is to provide useful context to help you understand the importance of the milestones and destinations in Part 4: the records management assessment tool.

This book utilizes a systems thinking
perspective to propose a holistic framework of analysis and practice for the
regional security community (“RSC”) arrangement in Africa. “Conflicts in Africa, interstate wars, civil wars, and
protracted social conflicts, have increasingly spilled over national borders to
become regional conflicts. In response, the international community has offered
regional solutions. But will these conflicts be regionally contained? Onditi
and his co-authors have taken up the challenge of rethinking regional security
communities from a holistic approach. Building upon the foundations of scholars
such as Barry Buzan and Karl Deutsch, this volume (de) constructs the AU‘s emerging
peace and security architecture, to promote African centered solutions to
problems of conflict that transcend the legacy of post-colonial boundaries
denoted by the ‘Curse of Berlin.’“

his new Handbook
examines the issues, challenges, and debates surrounding the problem of
security in Africa.
Africa is home
to most of the world's current conflicts, and security is a key issue. However,
African security can only be understood by employing different levels of
analysis: the individual (human security), the state (national/state security),
and the region (regional/international security). Each of these levels provides
analytical tools for understanding what could be called the "African
security predicament" and these debates are animated by the "new
security" issues: immigration, small arms transfers, gangs and domestic
crime, HIV/AIDS, transnational crime, poverty, and environmental degradation.

Why do nations break into one another's most important computer networks? There is an obvious answer: to steal valuable information or to attack. But this isn't the full story. This book draws on often-overlooked documents leaked by Edward Snowden, real-world case studies of cyber operations, and policymaker perspectives to show that intruding into other countries' networks has enormous defensive value as well. Two nations, neither of which seeks to harm the other but neither of which trusts the other, will often find it prudent to launch intrusions. This general problem, in which a nation's means of securing itself threatens the security of others and risks escalating tension, is a bedrock concept in international relations and is called the "security dilemma".

An experienced lawyer in the field, Anne Quintin offers an in-depth expert analysis of this highly debated topic. In the eyes of many, the primary purpose of IHL is to impose restrictions on the actions of parties in armed conflicts, in order to protect victims. But IHL is also increasingly cited as an authority in permitting conduct that would be deemed unlawful in peacetime, for instance some cases of internment or targeting of persons. Considering both international and non-international armed conflicts, Quintin carefully and astutely peels away the layers of this debate,

The Practical Handbook of Group Counseling is written mainly as a primer to be used in group work with children, adolescents, and parents. The first edition was used by over three hundred colleges and universities in the United States. Its unique design allows the reader to use it as a ready reference for practical information. It is presented as a text that can challenge the individual's ideas and upon which the counselor can develop techniques that will fit his/her personality and meet the needs of the group.
The text was the first comprehensive practical book in this field. It is a synthesis of the various problems and successes that the counselor may encounter and offers one model that may be useful in resolving and/or enhancing some of these issues. The author utilizes the public school setting as the vehicle for presenting his material. Since the school is a cross section of the population, the model proposed here can be adapted to other social agencies that utilize group counseling techniques.
The author, Dr. Sheldon D. Glass, has a significant background in group work and in child and adolescent development. He is uniquely qualified in this area because he has completed formal training in education, adult psychiatry, child psychiatry, and pediatrics.

It is a truism among therapists in most mental health disciplines that the most important aspects of clinical practice are learned only after one has left graduate school and entered “the real world.” While many of the basics could be covered in graduate school, supervisors of new therapists often feel that the fundamentals are only addressed in detail after a therapist has been employed. In response to this predicament, Odell and Campbell offer The Practical Practice of Marriage and Family Therapy: Things My Training Supervisor Never Told Me as a useful daily guide for graduate students and beginning marriage and family therapists that will ease the transition from learner to practicing professional in the clinical domain.

education, history and the social sciences over the past century. It

distinctive, interesting and important for a wide range of scholars from
different backgrounds.
